Laura hails from Yorktown, VA where she grew up loving the outdoors and various nerdy activities. She played field hockey through middle and high school, and participated in extremely cool clubs like Odyssey of the Mind and band. Laura graduated from James Madison University with a B.A. in Media Arts and Design and a B.S. in Biology. After a few stints in field research (sage grouse, trees, and prairie dogs) Laura decided to head to Washington, DC to be a self-sustaining adult. A few years in IT made her realize she actually did want to follow her dreams and save the planet and definitely not work in IT. She is now pursuing her Masters in Landscape Architecture at the University of Maryland. She lives with her fiance, Dean (you may have heard about him), and their dog, Noodles (he's even more popular than Dean), in their small but adorable condo in Dupont. She currently doesn't have much to complain about.

how we met

During Memorial Day weekend of 2013, Dean tagged along with a mutual friend, Emilie, to Rehoboth beach. Little did he know he was about to crash a ladies only weekend. He arrived to find a very hangry and impatient (albeit very attractive) Laura, who gave little to none of her attention to him. It seems she only had eyes for crabcakes. But once sated with a crabcake and a bucket of fries, Laura realized Dean was a mildly interesting fellow and spent the entire evening talking to him. Of course, Dean failed to ask Laura for her number at the weekends close. It wasn't until July that their mutual friends finally planned a get together for the two to reunite. Dean adorably asked for Laura's number this time.
